featured in Towns & villages Updated

This a resort mainly for clubbers and also families on package holidays. If you're looking for more history and culture then it's probably best to stay closer to Ibiza Town itself.

As you fly into Ibiza airport you can see the coastline and sea of umbrellas on the beach. Located 3.5km south along the coast from Ibiza town, this is a fun place where lying on the beach is coupled with dance music, water sports and cheap meals. There are plenty of restaurants and hotels here and it's a good base in between Salinas and Ibiza Town.

Sights & Attractions in Ibiza Town

There are plenty of places to explore within just a few kilometres of Play d'en Bossa, the Dalt Vila of course in Ibiza Town and also the salt flats of Las Salinas, both of which have been declared UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The Dalt Vila is full of narrow cobbled streets to explore, medieval architecture and plenty of museums and galleries.  And for those with an interest in archaeology and the ancient history of the Pitiusas Islands then the Phoenician Settlement of Sa Caleta is situated on the other side of the airport.

Beaches in Ibiza Town

The beach of Playa d'en Bossa, stretches for some 3km south of Ibiza town. A long white sand beach it is the perfect playground for water sports lovers...although can be prone to a windy gust as it is not very sheltered.

In the height of summer this can be a welcome relief. Other nearby beaches that are worth the visit are Es Codolar and Es Cavallet, both very different from one another. Es Codolar is a long pebble beach that stretches alongside the salt flats and is perfect for a long walk and some wildlife spotting...and if the wind is right it is also a good spot for surfing. Es Cavallet on the other hand is a chic sandy beach with a stunning beach club, sun loungers, volleyball nets and nudist area.

It can get incredibly busy though in the summer months and is a popular destination for people coming from all over the island.

For some fun in the water just off the coast then try Anfibios who can take you out paddle boarding, diving, sailing and kayaking. A fantastic way to see more of the coastline and enjoy some seaside adventures.
