Family friendly beach resort in the east of the island of Ibiza
As you turn off the main road into Cala Llonga, you could be mistaken for this being a country club with its rather official looking walled entrance. It is however, a delightful family resort that is buzzing with life.
As you drive through the town you'll find the streets lined with various cafés and restaurants, as you get closer to the beach the shops begin to sell buckets and spades, inflatables and all the things that you will need to make your beach holiday complete. They might not quite have caught up with the wave of pretty boutique shops hitting the island but you will be well serviced with a pharmacy supermarket and tourist shops.
The bay is extremely sheltered on all sides and reaches out quite far before it meets the open ocean, so bathing is fairly safe in the shallow waters here. There are always a number of yachts moored off the coast and many accommodation blocks surrounding the beach so you probably won't need to travel far each morning.
As well as relaxing on the beach you can be a little more adventurous here and turn your hand to things such as parasailing, scuba-diving, windsurfing, paddle boarding and much more. And there is always the option of bat and ball, or a game of volleyball on the go.
