Jesus, East Ibiza

Sweet residential village with some affordable and delicious eateries

featured in Towns & villages Updated

Jesus is a lovely residential village situated 2km northeast of Ibiza town. There are a few local shops here such as a butchers and dry cleaners etc, plus a lovely church (Nostra Mare de Jesus).

Jesus is also famous for housing some of the largest villas on the island, up in the hills is the famous "millionaires row" where wealthy residents, DJ's and celebrities dwell during the summer months. Having become more of a suburb of Ibiza Town rather than a village in its own right, it's easily reached from the main town, separated only by the protected marshlands of Ses Feixes.

Sights & Attractions in Ibiza Town

The Church of Nostra Mare de Jesus is slightly different to most churches across Ibiza because it contains a magnificent piece of artwork that has withstood over 500 years of invasions and still remains intact. A trip to this church is not complete without seeing the altar piece, painted by Rodrigo de Osona, that contains 25 painted panels depicting the life of Mary.

Dining in Ibiza Town

Along the roadside there are a handful of affordable tapas places and restaurants, where the prices are somewhat lower than in the centre of Ibiza Town. If you're passing through in the morning, make sure you pop into Croissanterie Jesus to get some freshly baked treats.
