Through the village of San Jose, continuing to the west coast, you come to the gorgeous bay of Cala Vadella.

Sunbeds, umbrellas and pedaloes are also available to rent and there is a lifeguard on duty for safety.

You may even find the more upmarket full day bed available which allows for a little more privacy with the floating curtains that surround it.

The beach resort of Cala Vadella has a selection of small shops and restaurants so you won't need to travel very far to find everything that you need.

Parking is limited and it is best to arrive early if you want to get a spot. Unless you are staying in the resort itself you may find it is better to take the short journey along to one of the neighbouring beaches.

Cala Vadella has been awarded the FEE's Blue Flag consistently from 2007 until the present day.

Setting & Location

Nestled in a small bay on the south west coast this beach resort is perfectly situated to make the most of Ibiza's natural offerings. Although it has been built up with several hotels and apartment blocks offering direct beach access, it has been done in a sympathetic way and has a very villagey feel to it.

Water Safety & Clarity

The water itself is shallow and the bay is generally very calm so it's great for kids, however, it's also a popular place for boats so don't venture out too far.

There is a lifeguard on duty and the area for swimming and boating is clearly marked so make sure you stay within that.

Beach Quality

Unlike most of the beaches in Ibiza, Cala Vadella is extremely wide, offering plenty of space to lie on the fine white sand.

Watersports Nearby

There are plenty of watersports and beach games on offer here including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, pedaloes and snorkelling.
