Taking in the beautiful olive and almond groves of the north west and the popular beach if Benirras, this circular is a great way to begin your biking experience in Ibiza.
Although a high percentage of this road is on road, they are very narrow with scarcely any markings. It will take you on a journey through the countryside and landscapes of the north of the island, making it accessible to cyclists who are not so skilled on two wheels.
It is a circular route, leaving from the small village of Sant Llorenç (San Lorenzo) and passing through the countryside, you will pass close to the town of Sant Miquel and climb until es Portixol where you begin a descent via a spectacular path with access to the cliffs of Na Xamena.
You should always take suncream & water on any bike ride, however it is particularly important on this route as you will not be able to find water fountain until you reach the end of the route at Pou d’Aubarqueta.
The beaches of Puerto de San Miguel and Benirràs beach are both beautiful sight seeing spots that are worth stopping for, or even for a quick swim! You will also pass close to the cave of Can Marçá, a beautiful cavern which stands out not only for its incredible features but also its history as a refuge for smugglers and pirates.
When passing close to the town of San Miguel it is worth visiting the church here which is the oldest on the island.
