The tiny village of San Mateu d'Albarca is one of the smallest on the island. Located 19km north of Eivissa, this tiny village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of vineyards.
Continuing north from Santa Eularia along the east coast of Ibiza, is the small village of Sant Carles de Peralta. Located 22km north east of Ibiza Town, this is a perfect lunch spot if you are exploring the island.
San Antonio is the town by which many people define Ibiza. During the 1980's the town hit a development boom, as tourists (mainly English), flocked in their thousands to visit the sunny resort and dance the night away.
The large area of Sant Josep covers mainly the whole south west of the island and is a gateway to some of the island's most beautiful beaches and to the islet of Es Vedra.
Heading out north west on the main road from Ibiza to San Antonio, after 7km, lies the small village of San Rafael.
As you turn off the main road into Cala Llonga, you could be mistaken for this being a country club with its rather official looking walled entrance. It is however, a delightful family resort that is buzzing with life.
Situated in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, this pretty small village offers stunning views over the southern coastline.
Situated 15km north along the east coast from Ibiza town is the charming municipality of Santa Eularia. This area has a slower and more relaxed pace of life than its neighbours of Ibiza town and San Antonio.
Past San Rafael, above San Antonio, is the small village of Santa Agnes, only 18km north west of the town of Ibiza, this is really in the sticks.
The steep road that leads down into Cala Vadella from the south shows you a glimpse of the beauty that awaits you below. Passing beautiful white washed villas with colourful windows and roofs you are led down to a surprisingly lively and picturesque resort.
The cheaper alternative to many of the bigger beach resorts and popular towns, Es Canar has it all for those who want a great fun packed holiday...but on a budget.
This a resort mainly for clubbers and also families on package holidays. If you're looking for more history and culture then it's probably best to stay closer to Ibiza Town itself.
