The church of San Antonio dates back to the 14th century, however like many other churches, only some of the original building remains.
A great circular route that can only be accessed on two wheels
Taking in some of the island's cross country biking trails this is a beautiful way to explore the interior of the island.
Starting from San Antonio this route is fairly short but takes in some tricky sections of trail. If you don't feel confident to tackle them on your bike then you can always walk them! You travel along paved tracks, small paths, through wooded areas and through small towns.
As always on a bike ride you should ensure you have enough water, some snacks and plenty of suncream.
As part of the route you will make a breathtaking descent to the beautiful Buscastell Valley, following a very steep and difficult cross-country biking trail that ends at a stream fed by the es Broll springs. Stunning!

The cave of Ses Fontanelles is situated in an area of beautiful rocky cliffs between Santa Agnes and San Antonio. Inside, there are pre-historic paintings.

1. Depart at the MBT sign next to the San Antonio football field. Take the adjacent street, in the same direction as the traffic. At the next two roundabouts you must continue straight ahead.
2. Take the road on the right, heading south. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead, without turning.
3. Next you will come to a dangerous curve where you leave the road and turn left onto a track. Next, you will see a big house with a wrought-iron fence. Turn right, and right again at the next fork.
4. Go down a hill to the right, turn left, and then take the next path to the right.
5. You'll come to two paths that go past a house, one on each side. We’ll take the path to the left and then the next path to the right.
6. Crossroads, straight ahead along the path. Four paths converge at this crossroads. Continue straight ahead up a low hill, after which you will come to a path lined by stone walls. Here continue straight ahead at the next crossroads.
7. Next you will abandon the path and turn left onto a track. Taking a right turn at the next crossroads. A bit further on, go through a wrought-iron gate.
8. Right turn and go through a gate. At the next crossroad, turn left between two stone walls. When you come to the next crossroad, continue straight ahead.
9. You will turn right along a path with a metal fence on one side and a stone wall on the other. At the next crossroads, take a right onto a path and go straight ahead.
10. Right turn onto the road linking Sant Rafel and Santa Agnès, heading south. A bit further on (next to a house) turn left onto a road and continue straight ahead.
11. Left turn onto narrow paved road and continue straight ahead, without turning.
12. You will find a wooden gate opposite you. Turn right and go up a short slope. Further on, turn left onto a track and at the next fork, turn right.
13. The next fork is confusing. Take the road to the right of a wrought-iron gate in a stone wall. Go straight ahead along this road. There are farms on either side. You come to a fork, where you turn right.
14. Continue straight ahead without turning, until you come to a crossroads, and then turn left. A few metres further on, turn right.
15. Right turn onto a paved road. Then go downhill until you come to a crossroads, where you take the way to Eivissa.
16. Left at the crossroads (where there are some trash bins). When you come to the next road, turn right. Then enter the woods and follow the same track, without turning.
17. You will come to two houses at a fork in the track. We take the track to the right, and turn right again at the next two forks.
18. Crossroads, straight ahead, then at the next fork, turn left.
19. Right next to a house, you will turn left onto a downhill road. When you come to a track, turn left. At the next crossroad, continue straight ahead.
20. When you arrive at Santa Gertrudis turn left around the town until you come to the main road. Here, you turn left again.
21. You will come to a curve where you turn left onto a track that leads into the woods. A few metres further on, you pass Pou d'en Gatzara. Continue along this track without turning. At the fork, go straight ahead and head downhill without turning.
22. Arriving at a paved road, turn right, and then turn left onto a dirt road. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads.
23. We turn right and go past some fields. Turn right again at the next two crossroads.
24. Left turn onto the road and continue until you come to a crossroads, where you turn left.
25. Right turn onto a little dirt road (only the first part is paved). Then turn left at the next crossroads and then go straight along the track without turning off at any crossroads.
26. Left turn onto a path at a small crossroads. Next, turn left again.
27. When you come to a road, turn to the right. Follow the road until you come to a track on the left, making a 180 degree turn. Turn right at the next fork.
28. As you go downhill, you will come to a fork (this part is quite difficult). Turn left. Turn left again at the next fork, and then to the right.
29. When you come to a sharp curve, turn right. Next, you will see some terrace fields, here turn right and cross the stream.
30. As you go up a stony hill, you'll come to a fork - turn right. Then follow the path to the fork, turn left and then left again.
31. Come to a crossroads in a riverbed. Cross the river and continue straight ahead. A bit further on, turn right, next to an orange house, and go downhill. Turn again at the river and follow a little path.
32. At the crossroads on the dirt track continue straight ahead. A bit further on, turn left. And at the next crossroads, turn right onto a road.
33. Leave the paved road and take a road on the left. Follow it until you come to a fork, where you take the path on the left.
34. Turn to the right and then to the left, making an “s” on the way.
35. Right turn onto the paved road. You will come to a crossroads where you continue straight ahead towards Sant Antoni. Shortly after, the itinerary joins the first part of the route. Continue along the road until you arrive at the point of departure.
36. End of the itinerary. The route ends at the point of departure.
