Sa Capella Restaurant, San Antonio

Fine dining in a 400 year old monastery

featured in Restaurants Updated

Located in the 18th-century chapel of Saint Agnes, just outside San Antonio, this restaurant offers delicious cuisine in a grand setting.

Legend says that the chapel is haunted. While the building was being constructed, the workers' tools would disappear during the night to be found at San Antonio's church. The chapel was never sanctified and in 1979, after serving as a private house, it was turned into a restaurant.

The grand brick hall is covered by a vaulted ceiling, while the surrounding gardens offer a romantic setting with tables set among lush vegetation and lit with candles. Specialities include marinated sardines on toast with tomato salad, beef carpaccio, marinated tuna with goat's cheese, roasted suckling pig, Ibizan prawns, or Chateaubriand prepared at your table.

At the end of your meal you will be offered their famous home-made "licor de hierbas" (herb liquor), do not miss it!

We recommend you book a few days in advance, as it is a very popular restaurant. Open every day from 20:30 to 00:30. Closed in January, February, March, November and December.

  • "This year is our second visit to Sa Capella. Set in a beautiful idyllic converted church. The food is delicious and the service spot on. The homemade hierbas is not to be missed! A place that we never miss on out holidays." - Trip Advisor
  • "I don't really need to write much for this. It was a short taxi ride from the main front in San Antonio. The setting was absolutely stunning. There is no other way to describe it. The high ceilings, the stone statues, even the cute little tables up in the alcoves! Food just topped it off really. My friend and I went but it was a very romantic setting for couples, maybe more appropriate but glad I didn't miss out! We booked in advance though which I think is necessary." - Trip Advisor
  • "Sa Capella had long been on our list of Ibiza 'must do's'. Finally this year we were able to spend an evening there, and it lived up to all expectations. Set on a quiet street above the hustle and bustle of San Antonio, it is a small tranquil haven where the staff are friendly, the food beautiful and the atmosphere unique. The main dining space is a beautiful old church, however it was very hot inside so we chose to dine in the small garden area to the front, which although lacking the intimacy of the church, was nonetheless very romantic. Couldn't recommend it more highly and we will definitely aim to come back again." - Trip Advisor
