After the end of the summer shenanigans, the spirit of Ibiza continues this month.
I recently had the opportunity to hop aboard one of Ibiza’s most famous boat party companies, Pukka Up. I was lucky enough to join them for their Friday sunset trip and having heard all about their raging parties, I was pretty excited to get onboard ‘the biggest boat party in the world’.
Somethings are just mandatory for your time in Ibiza and hitting up a pool party is definitely one of them. This summer the pool party crown is likely to be placed on the head of multi-platinum selling, comeback kid Craig David and his TS5 event. He is bringing his friends and taking over Sundays with a residency at the Ibiza Rocks hotel, every week from 17th July to 4th September 2016.
Beautiful blue skies and glorious sunshine - the perfect excuse to get out and explore.
A delightful month, providing a sneaky taste of the impending summer season.
Celebrate Sant Joan (John the Baptist), one of the island's biggest fiestas of the year
Every year, in late August to September, Ibiza is home to the festival of Sant Bartomeu. The Patron saint of the Sant Antoni area is celebrated with two weeks full of cultural events and fiestas including fireworks, music, art and sporting events that culminate in the hilarious annual Romans Versus Carthaginians tomato fight.
Traditions held fast last night as hundreds of people took to the beaches of Ibiza and lit bonfires in celebration of this fantastic Spanish event.
It’s that time of year again, September has hit, the closing parties have begun and one of the first to close up their 2016 Ibiza residency was one of the surprise hits of the summer: The Craig David TS5 pool party. This event has been taking over Ibiza Rocks hotel every Sunday of the summer and the last one swung into action on September 4th. It was the busiest by far as crowds arrived early to catch the man in action for the last time – at least for this summer.
Ibiza town was transformed this weekend and sent back into the dark ages with the arrival of the annual Medieval Festival, which took over the old town Dalt Vila from the 5th to the 8th of May. For four days the town became a swarming hive of bizarre and theatrical activity as upwards of 50,000 people descended upon Ibiza Town to help celebrate its rich and multi cultural past.
If you want to explore the White Isle without the crowds, now is the time
It’s not often that one thinks of culture in relation to San Antonio but for a month this summer the boozy, bar crawl of a town in south west Ibiza is getting a chance to show people that it’s about more than just binge drinking and boat parties as it plays host to the annual Bloop festival.
There is no denying that Ibiza Rocks is one of the ultimate hot spots to visit this summer. With a banging line-up of acts and an incredible venue for them to perform in, not to mention drink prices that don’t require a platinum card, Ibiza Rocks has got what we’re looking for and that is something just a little bit different.
Although Ibiza has gained notoriety for its exceptional offering of clubbing and electronic music, the island has much more to offer its visitors when it comes to entertainment. Throughout the year, there is an abundance of traditional fiestas, fairs and grand events celebrated on the island which means that, no matter what time of the year you visit, there is always something exciting going on.
Sunday saw the grand finale of the 2nd Annual Ibiza Pride Festival and after a week of events, parties and celebrations it certainly closed in style with a parade through the streets of Ibiza old town and a street party on the Vara De Ray.
Whether you’re looking for some quiet time alone with a classic film, a romantic location for a date night or an unforgettable spot for a group hang out Cinema Paradiso has got you covered. Their open-air cinema set up inside the fortified walls of Dalt Vila old town is an incredibly atmospheric place to spend an evening.
Ibiza coming to life as the first sun worshippers grace its sandy beaches
Far from going quiet after a string of epic closing bashes, Ibiza keeps the party going in October with Halloween headlining the calendar. The night has become a celebration of chilling proportions, where many of the island’s best-loved venues throw devilishly spooky events.
