Ibiza is well known for its phenomenal offering of clubbing, parties and feel-good vibes, but also for it's incredible variety of local fiestas and activities which keep the island buzzing all year round. This year, Ibiza is set for another incredible year, with a wealth of events, fiestas and activities across the island, as well as the usual host of international DJs, talented performers and lively crowds in the Island's clubs and towns.

Ibiza is a paradise for lovers of music and dance since the 1970s, and the island provides an unparalleled range of parties and events that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. From impressive superclubs to sunset boat parties, flower power festivals with music filling the streets and traditional fiestas with activities for all the family, there is something to suit every musical taste, mood and routine. So, whatever you're looking for and if you're travelling with friends or family, here's our month by month guide on the best parties, festivals and events in Ibiza this year.

Ibiza in January

January

In January, festivities are in full swing, with a great variety of things to keep you in high spirits and inspire your resolutions for the new year. Many of the clubs re-open for the New Year celebrations and the NYE scene in Ibiza is one of the most epic in the Ibiza party calendar, drawing in huge crowds.

One of Spain's main Christmas festivities, the legendary 'Three Kings Parade', also kicks off the month of activities in January, running over multiple days and with colourful parades filling the streets of most towns in Ibiza.

Some of the biggest local fiestas of the year also take place in January including the infamous Flower Power festival in San Antonio, which sees the streets of this village transformed into a bustling hub of activity, with live music, food stalls, music festivals and plenty of great entertainment.

February

Although most of the nightclubs on the island close their doors for the winter, there are still a few party spots that remain open and some great times to be had on Ibiza’s dancefloors in February. Away from the classic club nights, February is also a delightful month to soak up a host of traditional fiestas across Ibiza.

The party capital of San Antonio is always set for a busy February with a number of festivities organised in an extended celebration of their patron saint. Expect to see the famous party strip filled with street parties, activities and events, as well as concerts where eclectic music will fill the town’s streets.

Santa Eulalia is also a popular festival spot on February as they celebrate their patron saint in this dreamy seaside town. Over several days visitors will enjoy a carnival atmosphere filled with live music concerts, traditional dancing, feasting and much more. For foodies, February and March sees the popular Patrimoni Gastronomic culinary festival in Ibiza Town’s Dalt Vila Heritage Site, with enticing menus to tantalise the taste buds.

March

With the arrival of spring, warmer temperatures provide delightful conditions for outdoor parties, and there are plenty of events to discover in March.

Bringing colour and vibrancy to the charming village of San Jose, traditional Ibizan Flower Power parties and festivals will form part of the celebrations for the town’s patron saint which is commemorated this month in San Jose but also in towns across the Island. Expect music from the 60s and 70s filling the streets, lots of activities, as well as fire runs. 1st March is the Day of the Balearics, a holiday in Mallorca, Ibiza, Minorca & Formentera with markets, music and events across the islands. The Patrimoni Gastronomic Festival also continues in Ibiza Town into March, offering a wealth of culinary delights.

April

This month sees a selection of the island’s favourite beach clubs reopening their doors, signalling the start of the summer season in Ibiza. Generally most clubs open up again gradually across the months of April and May, with their opening parties taking place throughout the island, so you won't be hard-pressed to find yourself an excellent day out in April. Some of our favourites to look out for around this time include Amante Ibiza, Aiyanna Ibiza, Nikki Beach. For a more traditional taste of Ibiza, the huge celebrations for Semanta Santa / Holy Week take place during the full Holy Week of Easter in March of April each year. This is a spectacular event to see making it a great time to visit Ibiza. There is also the Ruta de la Sal Regatta, a prestigious event which takes place in April each year and sees over 200 boats arrive at the port of San Antonio and the town is filled with a variety of activities, stalls and live music.

May

As summer rapidly approaches, May sees many of the island’s much-loved venues reopen for the summer season ready to show off their excellent musical offerings for the upcoming season. With highly anticipated opening parties scheduled throughout the month, the island is struck with an infectious vibe. The annual International Music Summit is also held in late-April or May every year, a 3-day electronic dance music conference founded by Pete Tong and bringing the glamour and glitz back to Ibiza to kick off the summer season, featuring an amazing open-air party at the top of Dalt Vila. An event not to be missed!

Those looking for more cultural parties and festivals will equally appreciate the month of May. At the historical Dalt Vila, experience the Ibiza Medieval Fair, where the streets come alive with a magical celebration of the city's history and its people and food stalls and local craft markets take over the picturesque cobbled streets. Next, visit Santa Eulalia, where you'll find the town full of festivities, flowers, street processions, dances and fireworks to welcome the spring.

June

Boasting glorious sunshine and warm temperatures, June is the perfect month to get out and enjoy the many wonders of the island. This is the season for taking to the water and exploring the island on one of Ibiza’s famous party boat trips, where you'll find fully-stocked bars and live DJs, dancefloors, sunbathing decks, and watersports. Once back on dry land, the party can continue all night in some of the Islands best clubs which are in full swing and filling up every night at this time of year.

The vibrant Gay Pride festival also takes place in mid-June, which attracts an impressive attendance with people from across the globe coming to party and parade in the streets for the four days of the festival.

Celebrations across the Island also take place for John the Baptist and the summer solstice, where you can expect spellbinding celebrations filled with hedonism and unrivalled fun

July

Now that summer is well underway, visitors to the White Isle will find themselves spoilt for choice in clubbing options. Whether it’s daytime pool parties, iconic DJ’s playing sunset sets, or packed dance floors at the world’s favourite superclubs, July is the month that Ibiza really comes into its own.

To top it off, the world-famous Radio 1 Weekend dance music event takes place annually in Ibiza over a weekend in late July or early August. Each year it brings some of the biggest names in electronic and dance music to the island, along with world-renowned DJs. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for the dates for this year.

What's On in Ibiza August 2018

August

August is the liveliest month of the year in Ibiza and sees the island’s island’s beaches, bars, clubs and restaurants bustling with activity. Our top picks of clubs and beach clubs with some great events in August include Amnesia, Hi Ibiza, O Beach, Ibiza Rocks. The iconic BBC Radio 1 Weekend dance music event also runs in August or July, so keep an eye on our Events Calendar for the dates for this year.

The island also hosts a number of its unique local fiestas this month, celebrating Ibiza’s tradition and history. One of the biggest events in the Ibizan calendar is the 2-weeks of partying, music, markets, parades, sports and dancing that take place in Ibiza Town for their epic celebration of the local patron saints. It is not to be missed! In San Antonio a 3-week long celebration takes place for their patron saint with wholesome activities including dancing, kite flying and swimming.

September

If you are a lover of jazz, be sure to check out the Ibiza Jazz Festival (also known as Eivissa Jazz Festival), one of the most enthralling events of the year, set in the majestic Dalt Vila and delighting visitors with music and light shows. For five days, international musicians will descend to the island to perform in a series of captivating concerts in the heart of Dalt Vila. A day in the calendar of many of the villages and towns across Ibiza is the celebration for the Patron Saint of the area. These are celebrated with live music, dancing and festivities in the streets, where visitors can feast their senses in the magic of Ibiza’s traditions. Some of the locations to head to to take part in celebrations during September include the villages of Jesús, San Mateo and San Miguel.

October

With temperatures still in their mid-twenties, visitors gravitate to the island in October to soak up the last of the summer sun. The majority of clubs, beach clubs and restaurants close their doors for the winter this month, finishing the season with a multitude of epic closing parties, pulling out all the stops for their spectacular grand finale. Don’t hang up your dancing shoes just yet, as Halloween sees some of the island’s popular venues hosting a handful of frighteningly good events. Many of the big names get involved and open their doors again for this epic night, so keepy an eye on our Events Calendar for details as they come.

Escape to Ibiza this winter

November

After the summer shenanigans, you would be mistaken to think that the island was in need of rest and recovery. The spirit of Ibiza continues to live on in November, with a handful of clubs remaining open and some great parties still to be had this month. You’ll also find a handful of bars and restaurants keeping their doors open for the remaining tourists and residents. So whether you’re looking for a wild party or a more chilled vibe, there is still enough going on in Ibiza in November.

You’ll also find that the local fiestas continue in November, so if you’re more interested in the cultural side of the Island don’t miss the Fiesta de San Carlos, offering a multitude of wonderful festivities throughout the month. There is also the Fiesta de Santa Gertrudis - a lovely town where you can enjoy the festivities as well as the excellent cafe culture.

December

With a host of events taking place during the festive season, December is the perfect month to indulge in a winter getaway. As Ibiza continues to bask in the sunshine, great deals are offered at some of the island’s most exclusive hotels. New Year’s Eve in Ibiza is as anticipated as its opening parties, with some great options to ring in the new year. The clubs announce their big event plans on their social media platforms during this month, so keep your eyes peeled!

There are also tons of festive Christmas activities that take place across the island during December. Don’t miss the Christmas Market in Ibiza Town, and the Las Dalias and San Antonio markets which transform their usual crafts and foodie stalls into a more festive affair, including live music and events.
