Emerald water, eleven different islets dotting the coastline and stunning sunsets are only some of the reasons why renowned Spanish newspaper El Pais has chosen Cala Conta among the top ten beaches in Spain.

Declared as an "Area of Special Interest", Cala Conta is made up of three white sandy bays, contrasting with the turquoise of the water. Visitors and locals alike flock to this beach to watch the breathtaking Ibizan sunsets, no wonder the aptly named Sunset Ashram Beach Club is located here.

The beach of S'Alga at the small island of S'Espalmador, in idyllic Formentera, has also been included in the list. This 700 metre stretch of sand is the continuation of the celebrated Ses Illetes Beach, but only accessible by boat. El Pais has described S'Espalmador as a "pirate film island", so grab your eye patch and your sunscreen and head to Ibiza.
