Outstanding 2018 grape harvest in Ibiza

High-quality grapes and large quantities of them

The grape harvest has just finished in Ibiza and Formentera. Local vineyards are reporting that this year's quality is greater than ever, with a 30% increase in quantity as well.

Growing mainly local varieties of red Monastrell and white Macabeo and Grec grapes, regional wines are of an exceptional quality and it looks like the 2018 vintage will be no exception. While winemakers harvested white varieties at the beginning of August, the red grapes' harvest finished two weeks ago.

There are very few vineyards on the White Isle and only a couple in Formentera, so bottles rarely leave the islands. Visitors should make the most of their trip and taste local wines when on holidays here.
