With warm temperatures and gorgeous blue skies, spring is one of the loveliest times of the year in Ibiza. Exuding tranquillity and unique beauty, the island provides endless opportunities to enjoy an extended break at springtime.

Although Ibiza is famous for its bustling summer season, spring offers an equally sublime experience. From beach club openings to outdoor pursuits, traditional fairs to discounted hotels, there are so many wonderful reasons to visit Ibiza this season.

Beach club openings

The arrival of spring sees some of the island’s most sophisticated beach clubs reopening for the summer, providing perfect settings to spend a day in the warming sun. Tucked away on a lavish beachfront property, Nikki Beach makes a welcome return in April, offering guests the ultimate seafront retreat. Boasting an abundance of luxurious facilities and services, the global beach brand also has its own restaurant, pool and a variety of beauty treatments to indulge in.

Amante Ibiza also returns at spring, opening its doors on April 17th. Perched on a cliff top overlooking a magnificent bay, the dreamy venue is a hotspot to those that seek absolute sophistication. Known for its signature cocktails and Mediterranean plates, the beach club also offers yoga classes during the week. Its sister venue, Aiyanna Ibiza follows the trend, resuming service on April 16th. Set in a beautifully tranquil setting, the beach club and restaurant blends good food, cocktails and wellness on Cala Nova’s picturesque bay.

Outdoor pursuits

Ibiza’s balmy temperatures and fresh sea air provide ideal environments for outdoor pursuits. Springtime is particularly lovely, as idyllic beaches and lush landscapes offer infinite opportunities to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hiking is a popular activity at this time of the year, with various routes on offer across the island. From coastal walks to mountain hikes, there is something to suit every level of fitness. It is also well recommended to take a pit stop at the many fantastic restaurants found along the way, where you can recharge your batteries sampling on some delicious bites.

Thanks to the island’s varied terrain, there are a variety of sporting events taking place in spring. The Cicloturismo will tour through the charming village of San Rafael on March 17th, followed by the Ibiza Marathon, which will take place on April 6th. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or simply want to spectate in the sport, the events provide a unique way to discover the island’s natural beauty. Away from dry land, the Regata Ruta de la Sal will grace Ibiza’s ports from April 18th to 21st this year. Now in its 32nd edition, the event is the largest regatta in the Mediterranean and a great way to soak up nautical life on the island.

Traditional festivities

Throughout spring, there are an abundance of traditional fiestas, fairs and grand events celebrated across the island, transforming Ibiza into a paradise of colour and vibrancy. March 19th is the celebration of San Jose’s patron saint and will see folk dancing, a traditional mass and the popular Flower Power Festival taking place in the charming village bearing the same name. March also marks Carnival season or ‘Rúas de Carnaval’ in Ibiza, where captivating parades, live music and fun activities for children are offered at the lively events.

For those seeking a unique Easter spring break, Ibiza offers a traditional take on a much-loved festival in Spain. ‘Semana Santa' or Holy Week begins on April 14th this year and will include grand processions across the island, with the largest celebration taking place in Dalt Vila on Good Friday (April 19th). Expect solemn parades carrying platforms dominated by religious characters in Ibiza’s historical city.
