March has officially arrived, bringing beautiful blue skies and glorious sunshine to Ibiza and providing the perfect excuse to get out and explore the island.

With a host of traditional fiestas, gastronomical affairs and outdoor pursuits all on offer this month, there is no better reason to pack your bags and descend on a trip to the White Isle. As we enter a new season and edge one step closer to summer, we have collated a selection of the best things to do in Ibiza in March.

The weather in Ibiza during March is particularly pleasant, with temperatures expected to reach up to a balmy 20°C. Despite its mild, sunny and dry climate, the island’s Mediterranean waters may be too cold for swimming, at a mere 15°C. However, the amount of sunshine on the island remains high with the sun shining for an average of seven hours each day.

What to do in Ibiza in March?

For those of you who want to discover the natural beauty of the coast and the countryside, embarking on a cycling or mountain biking trip or participating in an organised hiking tour is the best way to experience the rugged and beautiful nature of Ibiza in all of its splendour. There are also some fantastic sporting events taking place in Ibiza this month, such as the 3km solidarity race for the International Women’s Day on March 8th, organised by the Ibiza Town's Council.

What's on in Ibiza in March 2020?

Day of the Balearics
The month kicks off with the celebration of the Day of the Balearic Islands which offers a host of over 300 fun-filled events across the island. As well as a series of free events, there will also be a celebratory lunch, artisan market and live music at the Hipódromo in San Rafael on February 29th and March 1st.

Food festivals
Foodie lovers won’t be disappointed this month as the Patrimoni Gastronomic Festival continues in Ibiza Town, offering a wealth of culinary delights. In celebration of Dalt Vila’s inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list, restaurants will offer enticing menus that will take diners on a gastronomical journey across the globe. Ca n'Alfredo and El Hotel Pacha are just two of the nine participating eateries, all of which will offer a menu priced at €20 including a starter, main course and dessert.

Jazz Point Ibiza Festival
The first edition of this International Jazz Festival will take place between March 6th and 8th, bringing some of the best international musicians to the island. With Heart Ibiza playing the host for the Grand Opening, guests can enjoy two concerts, a jam session and a special DJ vinyl set – all in the backdrop of incredible stage design. The closing will transform Es Mercat Vell in Ibiza Town, with a concert by the Big Band Ciutat d'Eivissa as well as special guests.

Traditional fiestas
The quaint town of Santa Agnes de Corona celebrates its patron saint on this day with a lovely offering of gastronomy, traditional markets and children's activities. Throughout March, Santa Eulalia will honour is patron saint marked by a carnival atmosphere filled with live music, traditional folk dancing, feasting and so much more.
