Rooney makes quick exit to Ibiza
England captain takes short break after EURO 2016 exit
Spotted this week on a budget airline flight bound for Ibiza the England captain joied his wife Coleen for a holiday in Ibiza after a disastrous EURO 2016 campaign.
England's 2-1 loss against a strong Iceland team was a kick in the guts to English fans on Monday night who thought that an England win was in the bag. Sadly though they were knocked out of the competition before even reaching the quarter-finals.
Team Manager Roy Hodgson promptly resigned from his position following the defeat and an inquest has since been launched into what went wrong in France. Rooney said: 'On behalf of the players, we completely supported the England manager but we understand his reasons for stepping down. We had absolute faith in the build-up and throughout the tournament.'
Rooney and wife Coleen have been seen enjoying some time off the coast of Formentera on board a private superyacht.
