Parties will be cut short next summer in Ibiza. At a meeting of the island's mayors on Wednesday, they agreed on a closing time of 06:30 for all clubs in 2016.

Not only that, but they will also ensure a tighter enforcement of new regulations, with tougher penalties for offenders. Currently, clubs usually keep the party going until noon preferring to face punishment than closing earlier.

Music bars also have a new closing time, 05:00, while beach clubs will be able to stay open until 03:00 but they will have to turn off their music at midnight.

These new rules will surely be opposed by nightlife businesses in Ibiza, with clubs being one of the main tourist appeals of the island.
