After the first season working with UNICEF Spain, the Ibiza Gran Hotel has raised funds and awareness of the 'Hoteles Amigos' initiative, promoted by UNICEF, whose aim is to combat the sexual exploitation of children at tourist destinations.

During the summer tourist season, the guests of the Ibiza Gran Hotel have participated voluntarily in the programme, with donations that the hotel adds to their final bill.

Raúl Sierra, director general of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, states that “both the hotel’s employees and guests have shown themselves to be very keen on doing their bit for this global cause.”

In order to raise awareness, the hotel has also distributed printed information about the campaign against the exploitation of children at tourist destinations. Under the slogan "Today you can change the world while you sleep," the Spanish UNICEF Committee intends to raise public awareness about the problems affecting millions of children and the need to take measures to effectively protect them, while raising funds earmarked for its children’s protection programme.
