Juan & Andrea Restaurant, Formentera

Fresh seafood with your feet in the sand

featured in Restaurants Updated

Located on the most beautiful beach of Formentera, this family run restaurant and beach club offers fresh and delicious treats from the surrounding areas. The specialities of Juan and Andrea have all the taste of the sea, and the restaurant tables are located on the sand, which is kept cool by the shade of the terrace.

Juan Boned, a fishermen of Formentera, and his wife Andrea have been running the restaurant for over 25 years. Opened in 1971, this restaurant has evolved from a small shack serving the freshest seafood caught by Juan, to a glamorous beach spot where you will see international celebrities enjoy their pricey, yet tasty dishes.

Right on the sand, under the shade of the palm trees, you will enjoy specialities such as grilled sardines, garlic prawns, lobster, paella, grilled fish and salads. For the meat lovers, try their beef tenderloin or lamb chops, and finish your meal with their famous strawberry cake.

They offer a dinghy service.

  • "Great place. Tables are placed right on the sand, giving the place a touch of relax that feels really good. Food is great, same with service. It is a bit expensive, but hey, you are in Formentera having lunch in a beautiful place with the jet set, so I think that's what you can expect." - Trip Advisor
  • "What an amazing lunch. It was the highlight of our stay on Formentera. To be sure, it was first-rate people-watching but the food more than held its own, as did the service, surprisingly, given the propensity for similar restaurants with overpriced menus and poor customer service. Standouts included the shrimp carpaccio and branzino. But the most talked about dish was the amazing cheesecake. Washed down with a bottle of Ott and followed by a swim in the exquisite beach right in front, and you have the makings of an ideal day." - Trip Advisor
  • "Busy place, amazing location, good fish and sea-fruit, paella and pan y alioli. The sangria de cava was excellent. Eating on the table on the sand is a unique experience. A bit pricey. Many V.I.P on the tables next to mine Nice place in Formentera" - Trip Advisor
