Pikes Literary Festival, San Antonio

Internationally-acclaimed authors meet in Ibiza for a three-day literary festival

featured in Events calendar Updated

After the success of last year’s first edition, the 2019 Pikes Ibiza Literary Festival will return this year for a three-day celebration of great literature, music, film and food.

Taking place right across Pikes' fairy tale grounds, from their neon pink tennis court to the Plaza Mayor, prepare to immerse yourself in author discussion panels, interviews, creative writing & publishing workshops, poetry readings and exclusive film screenings.

Headlined by acclaimed authors Irvine Welsh and Linda Quinn, days one and two of the Festival are dedicated to the best of British writing and music. Highlights include a very special interview on lyric writing with guest speaker and The Libertines' star Carl Barat, an in-depth panel discussion on memoir with Matt Trollope (Tony Pike’s official biographer), a never before seen preview of a new Sky Arts documentary on The Who and a unique 40th anniversary outdoor screening of the iconic 1979 British film ‘Quadrophenia’ featuring a special Q&A with members of the films original cast.

On the third and final day, Pikes open a new chapter for the 2019 Festival celebrating the finest in Spanish literature and film. Hosted by Cristina Amanda Tur, expect interviews and panels with renowned Spanish and Ibizan authors all culminating in a screening of the new documentary ‘De donde no se vuelve’ – a profound film about the award-winning Spanish photographer Alberto Garcia-Alix.
