Spending their time between their home in Monaco and the beautiful holiday destination of Ibiza, F1 driver Nico Roseberg and his wife Vivian will now be able to spend even more time together with their daughter, Alaia.

With the recent announcement of his retirement from F1 racing, Nico Rosberg will be no doubt disappointing fans of the sport, but delighting his young family. After a dramatic year of racing and competition between himself and Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, Rosberg has decided to bow out gracefully as World Champion at just 31 years of age, "It's definitely over. My decision is irrevocable. It's a closed chapter for me."

When asked what retirement would bring for him his response was, "Perhaps I will have some other role in Formula 1, because for me it's the best sport in the world. But now I am a father and husband," he told Sport Bild. "I have seen far too little of my family this year. We are going to do a long vacation and then in a few months I'll think about some new projects."

Since the announcement, his timetable has been filled by promotional obligations, including Saturday's function with German insurance giants Allianz in Nice, which will end in time for Christmas. "The first true moment of free time will be at Christmas, I'm really excited about it. I will be with my wife, my little girl, we'll be in Ibiza with a Christmas tree and enjoy a typical turkey dinner," said Rosberg.

There is no doubt that Rosberg and family will be spending more time in Ibiza as they not only own a villa there but Vivian, his wife, also owns an ice cream shop in the heart of Ibiza town, close to the gates of Dalt Vila. Vivi's Creamery has proved to be a hit with residents and tourists since it opened in 2014.

For now, the rumours are rife over who will fill his shoes on the Mercedes team...
