Tonights IMS (International Music Summit) electronic music concert featuring Disclosure and Flume, will be one of the last concerts that will be hosted on the battlements of the Old Town this year.

A further event, with Spanish artist Jarabe de Palo on the 9th July, is also cleared to go ahead but after this events will be strictly limited to Jazz Festival which takes place at the end of July. This is an event that the council themselves promote and take part in, hence why this has been allowed.

For the coming seasons the council has begun a review of the regulations that affect activities in these municipal spaces and will be more restrictive when granting authorisations. For example, if use of the space is granted then music will not be allowed after midnight and the volume of music will be strictly monitored.

Among the events that will be affected by these new criteria will be the electronic music concerts, reggae and flamenco festivals.
