1. Cafe Montesol Restaurant & Bar

Location: Ibiza Town

Offering uninterrupted service throughout the day, at this restaurant & bar you can have breakfast, brunch, gourmet lunch & dinner and tapas with wine or a cocktail.

Their menu includes international specialities such as sushi, but also lots of local specialities including red Ibizan prawns, pa amb oli with serrano ham, or rice, as well as Spanish cuisine, grilled meat and fish and home-made desserts & ice creams.

There is also a long wine list with local and international varieties, different types of sangría and lots of signature cocktails including their very own 'Montesol Cocktail' with Hierbas Ibicencas, Palo, eggwhite, hibiscus flower syrup, lime and aniseed flower.

2. Lio Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Located in a prime spot in the middle of Ibiza Town's marina, this restaurant boasts spectacular views. Their show dining and nightclub will give you a night that you will never forget.

Each night you can enjoy a different show with live music and cabaret acts in a true Mediterranean atmosphere, and all of this while you dine. The menu includes Mediterranean specialities with international touches.

It is also a very cool place to come for a just drink and watch the show. Then dance the night away at the nightclub.

3. Tatel Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Founded by partners Rafa Nadal, Enrique Iglesias, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pau Gasol, this restaurant in Ibiza is the third of a chain that opened in Madrid and Miami. They serve updated traditional Spanish recipes and boast a chic 1920's dining room with sea views inside the Hard Rock Hotel.

Specialised in seafood and offering lots of Mediterranean recipes including rice, fresh fish, oysters and caviar, chef Nacho Chicharro has also brought his famous truffle omelette and veal Milanesa to Ibiza.

It is also a great place to have a cocktail in its terrace or its roaring 20's-inspired interior to the sound of the best DJs.

Open daily from 19:00 to 03:00.

4. El Olivo Mio Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Located in the heart of Dalt Vila, this charming eatery is one of the most popular restaurants in Ibiza's old town.

Offering a cosy dining area and a wonderful terrace in one of Dant Vila's winding streets, this restaurant serves an international Mediterranean menu with Spanish, French and Italian specialities, as well as some Asian and Latin American dishes.

5. Calma Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Located in the exclusive Marina Ibiza, this restaurant serves traditional Mediterranean dishes and Ibizan cuisine right in front of the sea.

From breakfast through to lunch and dinner or drinks overlooking the luxury yachts moored at the marina and the old town or Dalt Vila. The menu at this restaurant includes seafood, tapas, grilled meat, fresh fish and home-made cakes. They also offer a set lunch menu.

Open every day. Summer from 09:00 to midnight, and winter from 09:00 to 21:00 and from 09:00 to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

6. Sa Punta Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Located at the very end of the bay of Talamanca beach, is the enchanting restaurant of Sa Punta.

Part of the Pacha group this eatery attracts locals, tourists and the international jet-set looking for some fabulous food in a beautiful surrounding. As you eat on the terrace under trees and fairy lights, you can hear the waves lapping the shore. This is a magical restaurant, where you can start your evening in the rooftop bar, which offers stunning views across the bay. Open every day from 11:00.

They also offer Patchwork, a rooftop restaurant and bar serving Lebanese cuisine in a chilled terrace. Open everyday from 19:00 until 03:00, surrounded by a colourful setting beside the sea with an awesome Dalt Vila view, through its atmosphere, creative cocktails and flavours, Patchwork is the ideal place for a laid-back dinner.

Ginger, on the other hand, is an Asian food bar in the garden of Sa Punta serving sashimi, tempura, spring rolls and dim sum among other things, open daily from 19:00 with great views over Dalt Vila.

Ca N'Alfredo Restaurant, Ibiza Town style of cuisine

7. Ca N'Alfredo Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

Located on the city's main promenade, the restaurant serves traditional Ibizan and Mediterranean cuisine made with the best local products.

One of the oldest restaurants on the island, it was founded in 1934 and passed into the hands of the Riera family in 1941, who still run it. Their menu is full of local specialities, including Bullit de peix, Borrida de ratjada or Squid stuffed with sobrassada. They also serve tapas, salads, soups, pasta, rice dishes including paella, meat and fish as well as homemade desserts.

This is the perfect place to try traditional local fare together with regional wines. Open from 13:00 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to 01:00. Closed on Mondays in summer, and on Sundays and Mondays in winter.

8. it Ibiza Restaurant

Location: Ibiza Town

With wonderful views over the marina, this restaurant and lounge bar has a typically Ibizan feel with crisp white decor and fresh dishes to tempt the palette.

Serving up delicious Mediterranean cuisine, renowned chef Gennarino Esposito prepares dishes based on freshness, Mediterranean tradition and the flavors of beautiful southern Italy. Situated in the enchanting Marina Botafoch, on the north side of the harbour, they are just a short walk from the historic centre of Ibiza Town.

9. Nassau Beach Club

Location: Ibiza Town

Located at the far end of Playa d'en Bossa beach, this beach club is small and funky, with an exclusive vibe.

There are a range of sun loungers and beds to lie on, plus a lovely restaurant with indoor and outside seating. The beach club also has a chill-out lounge and a cocktail bar, as well as a clothes boutique with some beach dresses and night time attire. All decorated in an elegant style with mirrors, designer sofas, teak floors and Buddha figures.

Their beach and boat service means you don't have to leave the water to get your cocktail or lunch.

Location: Ibiza Town

La Oliva is located at the end of the most lively square within the ancient walls of Dalt Vila.

Sitting outside on one of the tables you can enjoy a large selection of grilled fresh fish, meat, tuna and salmon sashimis. This is a great location to eat as you can people watch at the same time all within beautiful historic surroundings.

About choosing a restaurant in Ibiza

There's a wide range of restaurants in Ibiza to suit all tastes, and budgets. Read our guide on all the best places to eat in Ibiza and where to find your favourite style of cuisine.

The food on offer ranges from the truly spectacular, to the spectacularly over-priced. There are, however, a few places where you can get good honest food for less than the Greek deficit, but you have to know your way around. And if you have no deficit to worry about at all, then you have plenty of gourmet restaurants to choose from, where you can rub shoulders with the holiday elite.

The abundance of beach clubs around Ibiza's beautiful coastline means that no matter where you are you will probably find a great place for lunch. Many of these establishments are set up for you to enjoy your whole day there and this is indeed a very fine idea. You can keep it simple with a sunbed and umbrella and then wander up to the restaurant for lunch or go all out and get served all day long on your private bed, and have that table brought to you. Some of the more upmarket beach clubs are also set up to serve the clientèle who arrive by private yacht, so you can be assured of fantastic service, and probably a glimpse of some A list celebrities.

On the west coast you will find the relatively new and extremely popular Cotton Beach Club. This bright, light and airy club has been an instant hit with locals and is always busy for lunch so best to book in advance for this one. Vallet parking helps in the tiny car park or you could park further away and walk to it along the beach.

For those on more of a budget you will find that the local chiringuito (or outdoor bar) is a better option and fresh seafood will always take pride of lace on their menus. A healthy helping of paella for lunch is very traditional and a great way to keep you going for the rest of the afternoon of water and beach sports!

Although probably better known for cocktails, there is no harm in having a little nibble with your Sex on the Beach or your Long Island Iced Tea. The west coast is well known for the stunning sunset views and bars such as Kumharas, Sunset Ashram and Elements are great places for watching this natural event. Most places will offer tapas at this time (Spanish people would not normally eat dinner until 10pm or even later), but due to the sheer amount of British and other foreign tourists you will be able to get a decent dinner at this time too.

You will find that many hotel bars in Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia are on the rooftop so you can enjoy the views and the cooler breeze at sundown as you enjoy a selection of dips, mixed olives and cheese, or even chopitos, which are battered and fried baby squid!
