About Bars & Nightlife in Ibiza
The Island of Ibiza, known to many as the White Isle, has some of the best nightlife in Europe...maybe even the World!
With top name DJ's, big bands, VIP rooms, luxury yachts moored off the coastline and sunset parties most evenings you can be assured of finding the perfect night out. The main towns of Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and San Antonio have a great mix of nightlife, offering anything from relaxing beach clubs, chill-out music, special salsa evenings, cocktail and wine bars and of course some of the biggest superclubs on the planet.
The hippy chic of the Dalt Vila offers an eclectic mix of bars on the winding cobbled streets and a vibrant gay quarter that comes alive at night. In stark contrast the sophisticated chic of Marina Ibiza and Marina Botafoch, with nearby Pacha and the luxurious Poolside Bar at the Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort round the corner in Talamanca, offers you the chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.
The town of San Antonio is well known as a party-goers playground. There are bars and clubs that line the promenade and the iconic Sunset Strip that sets the tone for the evening with the chilled tunes of Cafe del Mar and Cafe Mambo, before the beat picks up for late evening.
In the north east the town of Santa Eulalia is quieter but can certainly hold its own when it comes to nightlife, opting for the more traditional Spanish feel of late night promenades, tapas and live music.
For the biggest superclubs then the central town of San Rafael and the east coast area of Playa d'en Bossa are where it's at. From the infamous Space (hosting it's final year in 2016) to Amnesia, and the World's largest nightclub, Privilege, these places have you covered for sleepless beat-driven summer nights.
There are bars and clubs dotted across the island, from beach clubs to restaurants that offer entertainment from sun down to sun up. All of these are just a taxi ride away.
Sunset & early evening
For glamour there is no other destination like Ibiza. It does not have the red carpet of Cannes or the money and casinos of Monaco, but it is most certainly a more discrete holiday destination for the rich, famous and truly glamorous people of the world. Beach clubs such as the Blue Marlin, the Cotton Beach Club, Es Torrent (George Clooney and Cindy Crawford being amongst their diners) and the Amante Beach Club, will host some of the most exclusive and exciting events of the year. With Paris Hilton being a regular on the Ibiza DJ circuit and other Ibizan based music icons like Pete Tong and Carl Cox performing regularly you can sure to catch sight of some of their glamorous followers.
For a night out where you can dress up, wear your sparkliest diamonds and killer heals then look no further than Nikki Beach. This exclusive beach club and restaurant just outside of Santa Eulalia oozes style and elegance, and arriving by yacht will start your night off beautifully, then you can just sit back, relax, (or schmooze) and be entertainment by Nikki Beach's signature entertainment and live acts every weekend!
Almost anywhere on the west coast will give you a great sunset view but there are a choice few spots that make the experience just that little bit more special. Benirras beach in the north west is renowned for its sunset parties, the beach jammed with people and the local hippy community beating their drums in rhythm. It is very much a DIY place, but there are also several great beach bar, including Elements which will quite often host some of the best DJs to thrill the crowds as the sun hits the horizon.
Another good spot on the west coast is of course Sunset Ashram at Cala Conta. A beautiful beach and a beautiful setting but it can become overcrowded and to get a seat you will definitely need to book in advance, even in early or late season. Worth booking!
For a slightly different atmosphere then the Cafe del Mar in San Antonio is an obvious choice, especially for many of us who grew up listening to their iconic mixes. A great chilled out vibe to enjoy natures display!
Perhaps best known for the superclub scene, Ibiza does not disappoint. With several or the largest clubs in the world, as well as some award winning ones, there is no shortage of places to choose. In fact with a one week holiday there is no way you can make it to them all! If you are in Ibiza Town or on the south east coast then no doubt you make your way to either Pacha or Space...or even both. And a journey into the middle of the island to visit Privilege and Amnesia is certainly no chore. Most clubs provided transport to and from town so that you don't miss out on a special night. Not only are their resident DJs some of the biggest and best, but their themed night and guest DJs will blow your mind!
On the east coast in the party town of San Antonio things are a little different with the slightly more alternative, but no less iconic, Es Paradis, one of the most beautiful night clubs that you will ever visit. The legendary Gatecrasher, now Eden, club is also situated here and a night out at The Zoo is not to be missed if you enjoy a bit of fancy dress with your music!
As a warm up for your evening, once you have watched the sunset, gotten your glad rags on and are ready for some music the ideal start is to make your way to the Ushuaia and Hard Rock hotels in Playa d'en Bossa. Starting off slowly they will gradually pick up the pace, and the beat, until you will follow the rest of the crowd straight into the nearest club (or club shuttle bus) to continue your party until the wee hours of the morning.
If you are in San Antonio then hitting sunset strip, a ten minute walk to the west of the town, is the thing to do. With Cafe Mambo and its sister bar Savannah you will not be disappointed. Live music and cocktails to get your evening started and get you ready to spend the night dancing.
