Do you have 24€ millions to spare? If so, you might consider purchasing a piece of Balearic paradise, S'Espalmador, a small uninhabited island north of Formentera which has just gone on sale.

Its current owners, Rosy and Norman Cinnamond, communicated their decision of putting the 137-hectares island on the market to the authorities before the summer began, and it seems like they have already received some offers. Their grandfather, Bernardo Cinnamond James, bought the place in 1932 for 42,500 pesetas (around 255€).

Although it is privately owned, the island is heavily protected because of its environmental uniqueness. The family has expressed their wish to sell it to the government of Formentera, but the administration feels that there is no urgency and they are still still studying the case.

S'Espalmador is a successful tourist spot. It can be reached by boat or walking through the dangerous path that connects it with Formentera, sometimes accessible when there is a low tide. However, many of the activities that can be carried out on the island like the famous mud baths are forbidden because of its inclusion in the Ses Salines Natural Park.
