With August just around the corner, Ibiza has welcomed a whole host of celebrities this weekend attracted to its crystalline waters, white sandy beaches, secluded coves and second-to-none nightlife.

Every summer, Lionel Messi and his pals visit the island. The football star owns a hotel in Ibiza and he usually comes hereyear before La Liga begins. This weekend, he was joined by his Barça teammates Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez, as well as Cesc Fabregas as he enjoyed Sunday night at Ushuaïa dancing to the beats of Latino sensation Ozuna who was playing at their Mucho Ibiza party.

Katy Perry sailed over to the White Isle from Mallorca, where she's been holidaying aboard millionaire superyacht Rising Sun, a 138m motorboat with indoor pool, spa, fitness room and a basketball court that doubles as a helipad. The pop star was here last summer.

Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have also been spotted sailing the Mediterranean just off the coast of Formentera, Ibiza's smaller, paradisiacal sister. They also spent some time on dry land sunbathing on the beach and shopping at one of the local markets.

Ibiza has also welcomed TV mogul Oprah Winfrey this star-studded weekend. The American larger-than-life celebrity took a stroll along the coast before boarding a luxury yacht. She first visited the island in 2014, coming back the year after aboard the Rising Sun, where Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are now staying.

Only last week, another American VIP came to Ibiza, ex-NBA player Shaquille O'Neal. So, from the looks of it, it seems as if the White Isle will keep her reigning place as the favourite summer destination among the rich and famous for many years to come.
