One of the many white sand beaches along the San Antonio bay

Formerly known by the title of 'Reggae Beach', this pretty stretch of white sand has lost some of its reggae-atmosphere but none of its beauty and charm.

A pretty beach to spend a pleasant day with the family. Good quality sand and plenty of watersports to keep you entertained, plus there are a line of good restaurants on the beach to choose from.

Setting & Location

Situated not far to the west of San Antonio, this is one of a long strip of beaches that surround the bay. Although it's surrounded by large hotels and apartment blocks, the beach is quite secluded and feels less urban than some due to the row of trees that back the beach.

Water Safety & Clarity

Stick to the middle of the beach where the entry to the water is rock free and sandy. The gradient of the water here is nicely shallow too and the water is calm and protected, making it a great spot for kids to splash around. There’s a lifeguard on duty throughout the summer, no road near the beach and plenty of water sports on offer making this a great beach for kids and that’s before they notice the waterslides.

Beach Quality

This beach is made up of soft white sand, perfect for sunbathing and beach sports.

Watersports Nearby

Snorkelling and fishing are popular around the rocky edges of this small bay. There are also two tall rickety waterslides located on this beach that children young and old will want to throw themselves down, just be aware they keep very irregular opening hours so don’t make promises to the kids until you see if they’re open or not.

There are various watersports and pedalos for hire directly from the beach.

On The Rocks restaurant offer complimentary sun loungers if you spend a certain amount per person, also it's a nice lounge bar and worth wandering through the trees to the restaurant itself where you’ll find a cool patio area complete with DJ booth, barbeque grill and a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

It’s a great spot for sunset cocktails and grilled meat and seafood.
